Bridging China and Manila, Charming Beijing

Charming as the old saying “I Love you to the Moon and Back”, Beijing gives an exceptional attraction not just here in our planet but a glimpse of the Great Wall from the moon. However exciting it may seem wherever we view the phenomenal attraction, we need not to travel 455,000 miles to and from moon to savor Beijing’s beauty, All we need is an appropriate passport with Visa from our point of origin to be awed and explore Beijing's Rich Heritage, Old Fashioned Tradition and a Diverse Culture that’s spread-out by Chinese decent throughout the globe.

​The much awaited Beijing experience in Manila last September 21, 2018, at 3rd level (by PowerMac and Crate and Barrel) SM Aura Premier was a success. The Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development yet again brought forth “Charming Beijing: Beijing Tourism Promotion” to the Philippines. Filipinos, Foreigners at the posh mall esp Chinese Filipinos where thrilled on the said event. It was a day wherein guests were able to catch a glimpse of the charm and beauty if China’s capital that is Beijing. With the theme, “The Silk Road Bridges East and West, New Beijing Resonates with People,” it reflects China’s endeavors to revitalize the Silk Road’s eminence into the modern times.

​“Today, we hope to use this opportunity to promote Beijing tourism, deepen tourism cooperation between the two countries, let more Filipinos understand China, understand Beijing, and further expand Beijing’s reach and connection in the Philippines tourism market,” said Li Zunjing Director of Legal Affairs Department,  Tourism Department, Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development, during the Charming Beijing program.
 
The one-day free admission event had activities highlighting many of Beiing’s unique characteristics. People were able to visit the Great Wall of China via the Beijing Virtual Reality Experience. The artists within came out guests immersed in the enjoyable “I Heart Beijing” Arts and Calligraphy Workshop, Attendees also got to try the 360 Beijing Photo Booth where they dressed up as an emperor or empress while striking a pose. And lastly, the Beijing Photography Exhibit gave a chance for the attendees to see the different views of China’s charming capital. Guests also witnessed a Traditional Lion Dance by the Rui Dragon and Lion Dance Group and a wushu exhibition by the Philippine Cultural College Wushu Lion and Dragon Team.

​“The Philippines and China are geographically close, and has a long history together. The long-standing friendship between the two countries has helped the two sides achieve good results in good cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture and tourism, “expressed Li Zunjing. And as the Filipino-Chinese partnership progresses, the two countries look forward in building and strengthening the bong they have established.

On the other hand, Beijingers and other visitors from North China can happily Explore the Philippines by going on island-hopping, beach holiday, SCUBA diving and other water sports, nature and adventure, culture and heritage, education, shopping, medical and wellness travel, “ tourism,” shared Glen Agustin, Director of Office of Product and Market Development of the Philippine Department of Tourism.
