Art Exhibit at Century City Mall

Century City Mall boasts its Grandeur at the Central Business District. With the sophisticated top of the line known brands housed under its roof, it then again raised its bar as it showcase a collection of the best creations from the renowned Philippine Art Arena.

Century City Mall and Galeria De las Islas presents  “A Century of Philippine Art!” exhibit which gives tribute to great Filipino talent, for eternalizing centuries of Filipino tradition and culture into timeless masterpieces.  Be mesmerized and taken back into time with 100 masterpieces by world-renowned Filipino artists who have painted and sculpted their names into our country’s history.

It is very noticeable that our generation today has little interest on visiting museums and exhibits.  The Digital sphere is more popular among most individual.  There is nothing wrong with being updated…but we should have a balance on not forgetting the greatness of our rich history.  “A Century of Philippine Art” is an exhibit that aims to interest mall goers to take part with History thru works of Art.

100 Art pieces curated over a century period by one of the oldest Art Gallery in Manila.  Galeria de las Islas or Gallery of the Islands is the art gallery located at the Silahis Center in Intramuros has been exhibiting paintings, sculptures and other works of art since 1967.  It has become noted for its collection of Philippine genre art.

The Exhibit at the 4th level of Century City Mall is open for everyone during mall hours.  Free admission as long as you register at the door.  Cherry Genato, the Organizer of the Event has made the opening day more special by having a fashion show of Filipina Gowns inspired by select 10 masterpieces showcased at the exhibit.  Live musical performance to serenade the guests during the opening day.

The Official Toast was led by the people behind the success of this Exhibit opening: Karl Mclean, CEO Superbrands Philippines, Ed Soler, Owner of Astra Gallery, Mark Shellshear, Gallery Director and Cherry Genato Event Exhibit Director.
Social networking highlighted the evening for people with interest in arts.  Fans, friends meet to enjoy what they hear, see, drink and eat at the opening.

The Exhibit will run until Oct 6 at the 4th level of Century City Mall from 11-8pm daily. The admission is free.  We encourage the public to visit the place.  No other Exhibit ever in the Philippines had curated a collection taken from 146yrs.  It is history that Century City Mall is presenting to its patron.
